A local Queensland online marketing expert has compiled a Web site that singles can market themselves using the 3d chat rooms. The 3D Rooms, found at Ticket4one.com already provides more than 20000.00 listings.

Rod Davies said he compiled the site after seeing thousands of singles using services that don’t grow with users needs in today’s modern market. "Because I spent years online chatting to people, I realized the potential of this vast network for helping singles jump-start in a user friendly 3D enviroment and broaden their social aspects in a medium with which they've become quite comfortable," Davies said

The site, described as "impressive" by Kevin Jewel, a brand manager for get found in Google. Provides not only 3D virtual worlds, but directs singles to numerous flash chat rooms. One of the facts of online dating is that there are more men than women online. For example, Match.com recently told ABC News that 59% of their subscribers are men and 41% are women. However Ticket4one.com Has also released that they have atleast 70% women and 30% men

The high male/female ratio of online dating is not the fault of the online dating services, but it reflects the unfortunate realities of the real world. Over a decade ago I recall reading a New York Times article that stated that there were approximately 6 single men in their twenties for every five single women.

How is this possible? Aren't there an approximately equal number of boy and girl babies born each year? The biggest contributor to the skewed ratio is serial polygamy. A man in his twenties marries a woman in her twenties, then in his thirties he divorces her and marries another woman in her twenties, then in his forties he marries another women in her twenties. This happens. I have a friend who's in his fifties and his current wife is in her twenties.

There is also parallel polygamy. I woman I know, when she was in her twenties, knew a guy who had two girlfriends at the same time (neither, of course, knew of the other one's existence). And at the same time he was also hitting on her, trying to bring his harem up to three!

What's going on in the real world is reflected in the virtual world of online dating. In fact, it's skewed worse than in the real world, because online dating sites attract a much greater percentage of people who have trouble finding dates. So not only will there be more men, there will be more undesirable (for whatever reasons) members of both sexes.

Men who use online dating services will initially try to contact the few women they are interested in. But because the desirable women receive more emails than they can respond to, male subscribers eventually figure out that they have to send out massive numbers of emails because the response rate is so low. So we wind up in the situation we're in now. Female subscribers to online dating services receive more emails than they can respond to, and male subscribers send out large numbers of emails and rarely get a response.

Women actually complain about this, but I think they are in a far better situation than men. If you are a man, how do you fix the problem? The answer is that you need to move to Manhattan. There are more single women in Manhattan than men. If you do searches in Ticket4one.com for Manhattan, you will find about 50% more female profiles than male profiles. The opposite of the ratio for the rest of the United States.

Thanks for writing.

Getting over my fear of losing a loved one definitely took sustained effort. In retrospect, I believe my quest for love was profoundly hindered by my terror of losing it.

At one point, I sat down and asked myself what was the worst thing that could happen if my husband suddenly died, for example. I wrote everything that came to mind down and thought about it. I mean, falling in love requires vulnerability, and there are never any guarantees in life for any of us.

Even after Peter and I were happily dating, and it became clear that we were headed for marriage, I'd stand on the train platform and suddenly be overcome with the terrifying fear that he'd die suddenly (his brother died suddenly of an aneurysm at age 20, my grandmother lost her husband to cancer in his mid-forties), and I'd have to remind myself: There are no guarantees in life.

For some reason, knowing that the playing field is level in that way for all of us (no matter what we do, where we live, or how much money we make) gave me comfort, and it encouraged me to keep picturing a happy future. I also reminded myself of my own strength, and that if I did suffer the loss of my husband, it would be painful but I did possess the emotional and mental resources to eventually move on.

Every now and then, I remind myself that none of us is going to live forever. It helps me not to take the good things in my life (my husband, children) for granted.

The other night I watched Lipstick Jungle (I like the clothes, okay?).

One of the storylines involves the breakup of a lead character and her boyfriend, Joe Bennett, played by Andrew McCarthy (I like Andrew McCarthy, too). To get over him, she throws herself into another relationship. He starts stalking her a bit, and she tells him, "I'm over you."

Whether she really is or isn't remains to be seen. I can't imagine Andrew McCarthy being thrown to the wind so early in only the second season of the series, but if she is truly over him, she's a better woman than I am (although, in real life, his controlling tendencies would be a turn-off).

So how do you fall out of love or get over a person who's hurt you? It comes down to discipline, the refusal to wallow in past memories and to get on with life. People who succeed in moving on from a once-splendid love affair accept that it's over. They banish the formerly beloved's image from their minds whenever it tries to creep in.

It doesn't necessarily mean they bounce from the old relationship to a new one. A broken-hearted woman might use the opportunity to travel, focus on getting a promotion at work, or taking up a sport or hobby which will keep her mind off the lost love and introduce her to new people who, incidentally, will also keep her mind off the lost love.

Hi, Sian-

I don't think you're being to hard on him. He asked you out. And then text-messaged you, what, eight or 10 hours later to say, "Sorry, not available." I do think that kind of message warrants a phone call. And some kind of explanation.

I guess the real question here is: Would you cancel a date via text message? If you would, it's possible I'm being unreasonable. But my credo when it comes to dating is, "Treat him as you would have him treat you, and if he doesn't treat you as you would treat him, it may be time to hit the exit."

I don't know the man, but sometimes men will ask you for a second date just to see if they "passed the audition." Once they're satisfied they did (and they've gotten the attendant ego boost), they're off and running to their next possibility. And then there are men who just don't know how to close a date without saying, "I'll call you." Or, in your case, "I know it's short notice, but let's get together tomorrow night."

The next time a guy asks you out for tomorrow night, do yourself a favor and make yourself busy. I'm not advocating playing games here, but all of us -- women and men-- like to think we're in the running for some slightly-out-of-reach prize. So make yourself slightly out of reach. Don't be available tomorrow, but do indicate interest by suggesting you could be available later in the week.

I moved to Atlanta for college and quickly got into a relationship with a guy there, "joe". a little background info: I nearly drowned a few years ago and ever since then I've had a horrible phobia of water, not like rain or drinking water, just being immersed in water..which is why I cannot approach pools or beaches. Ok so Joe and I had been together for about 4 months, everything was going great, when he mentions he has a pool at his house, would I like to drive there one weekend with him? I tell him about my phobia and how I dont even have a swimsuit because I cannot do it. He starts whining like a child, 'but I really like swimming! it's so nice, it's heated and at night you can look up at the stars." and I tell him it sure sounds lovely but I just cannot get near water! He starts getting angry and says "you havent even seen it, how can you say you wont like it, it's so so nice!" and I'm repeating, the main aspect is the pool, and that nixes the whole idea no matter how nice the stars and trees and everything else is! He threatens to break up with me and (I dont know why I did this, I shouldve ended it) but I say fine I'll sit by the edge and put my feet in the very shallow end so only my toes are wet because I am terrified of the feeling of water so I wouldnt go in. He says fine and we go and I put my toes in while he gets completely in. I'm not feeling great and I tell him so and I want to get away from the water, I get panicky just seeing it. He gets FURIOUS! "why cant you do this for me?! this would be a great way to show me you really love me and you're not going to try!!" I tell him I cant do it for anybody, it's not my fault, I'd really like to swim but I just cant. and he says "you'll have to face your fear sooner or later, dont be a coward" and I get up and start to walk away because I'm furious now, and he grabs my legs and pulls me into the pool!!!! MY BAD DATE

I am a very shy guy, and I definitely never approach random girls and talk to them, let alone ask them out on a date. But I was feeling particularly brave one night after visiting my uncle in the hospital, and approached an attractive nurse named Ginny. During batting practice, one of the players, Joe Crede, was signing autographs. He and Ginny started talking, which was awesome. But then it started getting to be like he was flirting with her. He was even pawing at her and holding her hand! I'm not one for confrontation, but I wasn't going to let a minor celebrity steal my girl away on my first date in months. I thought acting like a macho guy was the right way to go. I told Joe maybe he should be worrying more about the game than flirting with other guys' girlfriends. Oops. Ginny was furious with me that I would be so jealous, and also to refer to her as my girlfriend on our first date. Joe gave me a dirty look as well. The rest of the night was just painfully awkward. I had a chance to redeem myself later as a foul ball came our way, but I only made things worse by unintentionally pushing a kid out of the way to try to catch the ball, which I didn't. Ginny asked me to take her home after the game and to not call her. I visited my uncle in the hospital again a couple months later, and ran into Ginny, which was awkward. She had become a White Sox fan after that game and was taunting me that they were in the World Series and my Twins finished third.

Where shyness or similar social anxiety is the root cause, you are dealing with what's going on inside the psyche. Even when you are dealing with a physical manifestation, determine, first, the root cause. And, treat the root cause.

Now, in treating the psychological root cause, there are several options not the least of which is a very powerful hypnotic cure for the vast majority of cases of blushing.

This makes sense since the problem is inside your own head... and so is the answer. And, it is the best place to start considering it is less expensive and doesn't result in altering your body.

I am a man of very few words. So, let's get right into this.
The second worst possible outcome of a date is you shake hands and become good friends. .. especially if you both were looking for something deeper.

Look (especially you shy guys), dating is like a full body contact sport. In a body contact sport, there are two messages given and two messages received on every hit. Same is true with dating.

Yelling and trashmouthing each other over the line of scrimmage means nothing. It's just babble.

Sitting beside each other aftraid to make a move for fear (of what) and just talking and yacking and laughing means nothing. It makes it next to impossible later on to DO something. You've stalemated each other making action awkward. So, you miss a great opportunity and each of you moves on dissatisfied. That's sad!

Women always measure. And, touch is one of their greatest strengths for determining the depth of attention, attractiveness, of passion, and a bunch more. It's their safety net.

Guys ... well, it's more like a grope (unfortunately).
On the other hand, sometimes women measure the kind of passion they want at any given moment from a casual grope and often the full treatment. It all depends on circumstances. And, guys are almost never made fully of what they are.

To most of us in the dating business, we have learned to see shyness as cute. The people who suffer from it or with it are most often very sincere, warm, caring people. Maybe just a little too much so.

The unfortunate part is, though, that they almost never get to show off these wonderful character traits and especially to the people they want so much to meet, to talk to, and to date.

Because some of the prime traits are self-effacement, usually accompanied by lack of self-confidence, a growing problem with self-esteem, and insecurity, shy people often assume defensive postures like being aloof and unapproachable. So, they most often don't even try to meet the people who would be best suited to them.

Left unresolved, these shyness characteristics can grow into jealousy and uncontrollable anxiety. Not good!

There are lots of 'exercises' to help the shy person come out of his / her shell. Most of them don't work.

Just telling the shy person to 'go do it' certainly is not going to work and will likely make the problem even worse.

The one suggestion I make from everything we've seen and done is hypnosis, more specifically... self-hypnosis.

Since shyness is self effacment, a mental force, it would make sense that the solution is in the mind of the sufferer.

When the shy person comes out of their shell, they can then begin to make the kind of relationships that are more in touch with their personal gifts rather than just taking the first path that comes their way. Then, two people will suffer from the one problem.

I see a lot of people come through Rosey's. A lot of what I see on the profiles disturbs me quite a bit... not from what they write but from how deeply seated some of the problems are.

Shyness is one of them. And, it is one of the more destructive ones because of the longer term implications.

Here's a simple thing for you to do with your next date.

Take that person to where there is known to be ample temptation. Now, I've seen this in the reverse sense. And, it's gotta be pretty traumatic for the victim.

Here's what happens.

You're sitting there with your date. You're chatting away. Just then, some really handseome guy or beautiful girl goes by. Your date just drops his or her focus on you and does a thorough scope job on the person walking by.

Then, it happens again. Then, it happens again after that.

What then follows is that person changes their sitting position so that they can get a better angle of not just the front, but also the back of their interest.

While guys are particularly prone to this not so subtle (and not too damned bright either) approach to oogling, flirting, or simple interest, women do it, too.

OR How to Get Out of a Date with Ugly Women!

Do you go out on many blind dates? Do you date American singles after contacting them through the internet at any of the many online dating sites?

If you do – then you, like me, will have invariably, have run into those attractive looking-women on the internet who when you meet have suddenly become into the ugly version of Cinderella. Either they will be grossly overweight and instead of stating it outright – they will mention that they are of average weight or they will submit a picture of them years ago – when they were beautiful.

I find these women (or men) insulting! Why did they lie?
What I can never get is what do these ugly women and men expect when we meet? I have come expecting something else – and then get someone completely different.

In a hope that it will not hurt their feelings too much, I have devised a set of actions and behaviour that guarantees that these ugly men and women will want to get rid off you!

Out for a Ball: Ask them if they are looking for a serious relationship? If they answer that they are – then hint that you are looking for a one-night stand. But beware! I wasn't paying attention to what my ugly date was saying and I found out that though she was looking for a serious relationship – she was willing to suspend that tonight.

Eying Hot Women: Look at the nearest attractive women. If you can, make sure that she notices this.

Unreliable: Talk about your dating escapades with attractive American singles and divulge intimate details about them. You don't have to really divulge true information – make up things.

A Cheater: During your conversation, let it "slip" that you had cheated on your former girlfriend. Then, state that the affair didn't mean anything to you, but that your girlfriend didn't understand why.

Emphasize it: Listen to her advice, suggestions and talk and then let it slip that you had cheated on another girlfriend as well. The point is that she understand that you have a history of cheating on your girlfriends with other beautiful American singles.

How it Began:

I had signed up and created my very own personal ad at one of the many dating sites hoping to find american singles from an Indian background. Answering all the questions and filling up all the necessary preferences, I began to contact some of the prettier singles.

To my utter surprise, I was bombarded with responses. At first I was in seventh heaven and I danced with joy. By mistake, I had posted an image of the bollywood heartthrob, Shahrukh Khan.

Now I realized why I had received so many answers and had been able to set up dates with so many beautiful American singles.

That would be rude and impolite!!! What about you John, how would you say it?
